A beautiful day of getting back to Mommyhood! My boys have ben gone since last Thursday. Josh and I led a student trip to DC this past weekend and since I had to fully don the hat of "Asst. Student Pastor" on that trip, I knew my boys would be out of place and would prevent me from fulfilling those responsibilities. I really missed my "Mommy" hat though. I always do. Since it is my primary daily job and the thing I love just about more than anything in my life, its always hard to relinquish those duties to someone else. They spent 5 glorious days at my grandparents' house-- spoiled as ever, I'm sure! I picked them up yesterday afternoon and gladly donned the "Mommy" hat once again.
Needless to say, the morning quickly resumed with two early-risers (well, 8 am, that's early for the Butcher kids) and immediately fixing cups of milk & juice, french toast (don't worry, they were frozen ones...I'm not that good!) and Mickey Mouse (or Ga-Ga, the term of endearment given by Cole) Clubhouse episodes. While the early start wasn't my preference, I'm glad to be back in the swing of things and looking forward to the next few months which could potentially hold some crazy exciting things for our family!
